Dwarf Red Stemmed Parrot Feather

Hornwort is a great starter plant for any aquarium or pond.  It is fast growing and can adapt to almost any water conditions.  It grows well wither floating or planted.  Because of its fast growth it is great for absorbing extra nutrients in aquariums and ponds.

Red root floaters are a floating fern know for their unique red roots.  They are an easy plant that spreads quickly.  They do best in aquariums and ponds with low flow and if left alone can quickly cover the surface of the water.  Red root floaters provide great hiding spots for more timid fish.  They are also great for oxygenation and denitrification in your aquarium.  Higher light will cause leaves to take on a more red color and medium light will result in more green leaves.

Salvinia is an easy floating plant for any planted aquarium or pond.  It is native to South America and has relatively large leaves and dangling roots.  It is quick to propagate and provides great cover for timid fish and fry.  Salvinia is also great for denitrification and oxygenation of the water.  It prefers gentle water flow and can handle a variety of water conditions.

Java Fern is a great easy plant that can thrive in a wide range of water parameters.  It is slow growing and will thrive when floating, planted, or attached to rock/driftwood.  The only thing that you need to watch out for is not to bury the rhizome under gravel or sand. Java Fern provides great cover for all types of fish and is sturdy enough to hold up to even rambunctious fish.

Placement - This plant will grow to about 12"-14" so it works well as a midground

or background plant.

Bacopa caroliniana is a common aquarium stem plant that is fairly easy to grow.  This plant is great for beginners because it is easy to grow and will not require CO2 but will benefit from it.  This plant can be propagated by cuttings and will grow both submersed and emersed.  All of our plants have been grown submersed to provide the easiest transition possible to your aquarium.
